10 years after its launch, a ‘special team’ is fixing all the problems in The Sims 4

Electronic Arts recently revealed that a ‘special team’ has been formed to fix a ‘laundry list’ of problems big and small with The Sims 4, which was released nearly ten years ago. As a cash cow of a product, The Sims 4 has been free-to-play for some time now, but paid-for expansions have been selling very well even after the game hit the open market.

That’s why EA is investing in a targeted team to help stabilize the game, but there are also no estimates of when The Sims 5 – dubbed Project Rene – will be revealed.

Above the ball

Here it is What Electronic Arts Says About this initiative focused on The Sims 4:

You’ll notice that we’re looking at more issues than in previous months; What does this mean? We’ve assembled a team to invest in key game experiences, including fixing technical issues The Sims 4 . We continue to review the reported concerns that caused you disruption The Sims 4 gameplay over time, and we found that it caused a lot of frustration. That’s why we set out to build this focused team, which can increase both the number of fixes we can address and how often we ship these batched updates.

The Sims 4 has a strong community – and it always will as long as it’s online. It’s a legendary series in its own right, but the sheer volume of expansions and mods available for The Sims 4 has kept the game alive for all these years, but is developing. According to Electronic Arts, it smashed player records when it went play-to-play.

In this first major update, EA’s dedicated team has provided solutions to issues encountered in the base game and a series of major expansions: Cats & Dogs, Rent, Commute, and Seasons.

Are you still playing The Sims 4 after all these years?
