in A new post On Twitter, the team behind Assassin’s Creed Shadows clarified that “mandatory connection is not required at all times.”

Instead, players only need an online connection to install the game. Players will still be able to play “the entire journey offline” and explore “without any online connection”.

Ubisoft is known for incorporating extensive online features into its games, although this affects some gameplay performance. So, many Assassin’s Creed fans are relieved that Shadows doesn’t require a mandatory online connection.

After all, its map is expected to be identical to the one in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The ambitious project also includes 15 developer support studios.

Mandatory online connections also cause many other problems. It’s unclear if this represents a slight change in direction for Ubisoft regarding other future titles.

Naturally, today’s post adds that devs will reveal “way more” ahead of launch.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows opens on November 15 and finally got its world premiere trailer earlier this week. It is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The plot focuses on a shinobi, Nayo, and a samurai named Yasuke.
