The Asus ROG Ally X has been officially revealed and pre-orders are now live! Here’s more information about the handheld console, including specifications, pricing and availability.

The handheld gaming community has been steadily growing in recent times, with manufacturers releasing new devices and refreshing them more frequently. The latest refresh comes for the industry’s most used handheld console right now: the Asus ROG Ally. The Asus ROG Ally X is the successor to the handheld console, and it brings some exciting upgrades. However, it is not the complete overhaul that many are hoping for.

ROG Ally X vs ROG Ally

Compared to the last gen’s 16GB LPDDR5 – 6400 MT/s, there are some significant improvements for the ROG Ally X, which includes much more RAM, 24GB LPDDR5 – 7500 MT/s. This upgrade helps performance through increased RAM and faster speeds. The next big change is its storage, this time doubled from the last generation’s 512GB to a 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD. This means you can fit more games on your device while traveling (how convenient!).

Also, one change fans are most excited about is the battery, as Asus listened to the community and doubled the capacity from 40Wh to 80Wh, which is exciting to say the least. Finally, there are minor tweaks to the body, such as improvements to the handles, chassis, and joysticks. Also, the ROG XG Mobile port has been ditched for USB 4 ports on the new device. However, the APU is the same from last gen which is AMD Ryzen 1 Extreme. Check out the full specifications of the ROG Ally X below.
