Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 requires you to always be online

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches in October, players will need to be online at all times no matter what they want to play. That means an internet connection is also required to play the campaign.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 uses texture streaming in all game modes to deliver the highest quality visuals while minimizing the game’s overall storage space on your hard drive,” Activision said.

‚ÄúThis means you need a continuous internet connection to play any game mode, including the campaign. If you’re on a console, the campaign is playable without a premium subscription service like Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus.

Due to the need to always be online, those in areas with weak network infrastructure or those who lose connection for any reason will not be able to play any aspect of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 releases on October 25 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It was also the first Call of Duty game to hit Xbox Game Pass on Day 1.
