Can you play Black Ops 6 on PS4? – Answered

Countless Call of Duty fans have yet to upgrade their systems, and there’s nothing wrong with that. The last generation of consoles—the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One—were fantastic and much cheaper than current-gen systems. But you also shouldn’t miss the upcoming Call of Duty game. So, can you play Black Ops 6 on PS4?

Is Black Ops 6 coming to PS4?

While we heard rumors last year that the next Call of Duty game would launch on current-gen and last-gen systems, we can confirm that Black Ops 6 is coming to the PS4. It is coming to most systems including PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in October 2024.

The Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offer cross-generation support, meaning you buy a single copy of the game and it will work on both systems, but the PlayStation doesn’t offer the same. Compatibility GameStop has product listings for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 copies.

Is Black Ops 6 Cross Platform?

While we still don’t have official word on cross-platform support for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, it’s likely to happen. Past titles in the long-running first-person shooter franchise have included crossplay and cross-platform features from day one.

Furthermore, with Black Ops 6 releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft and Activision wanted to make sure it was as widely available as possible. They want everyone in the first-person shooter scene to play this release later this year, and they want competitive players to have full lobbies. Cross-platform between all five systems is a must-have feature to get this job done!

Long time Call of Duty fans want something to help them wait until the next game like XDefiant. But does it offer search and destroy? Oh, by the way, we’d love for you to join us by signing up for the Insider Gaming newsletter!
