Capcom purchased the animation studio for just $27,000

Capcom has just announced that it is acquiring Minimum Studios, an animation company that has worked extensively with Capcom in the past. Minimum specializes in face and body animation and recently contributed to the development of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The Taiwanese company was acquired through a share buyout, with Capcom paying the equivalent of just $27,000 to secure the studio.


A strengthening effort

In a statement Capcom published to announce the acquisition, it said:

In Taiwan, Minimal Studios’ strength is in animation production for consumer home video game development, and the studio has previously worked on major Capcom titles. Capcom decided to make the studio a subsidiary to steadily increase its development and technical capabilities, with the goal of achieving a long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.

Recently, Capcom confirmed the development of a new Resident Evil game, with the director of Resident Evil 7 at the helm. Nothing is known about the game, but it is said to be a substantial offering. will be bigger than recent titles including Resident Evil Village.

Capcom also lifted the lid on the Dead Rising Deluxe remaster last week. It’s been dubbed more of a remake than a remaster, and it’s coming out on September 19.
