In yesterday’s State of Play stream, PlayStation developer Firewalk Studios pulled back the curtains agreement, its 5v5 competitive first-person shooter. What’s more, the game’s launch is just around the corner – ending on August 23.rd For both PlayStation 5 and PC, with a beta for pre-orders in July.

On PlayStation Blog, Concord game director Ryan Ellis shared all the details on what exactly Concord is. For starters, it’s a love letter to sci-fi adventure, with influences from anime, film and television. The game is designed around creating water-cooler moments with your friends as you learn more about the game’s galaxy.

Concord has a clear Overwatch vibe – as you can see from the trailer below – with its focus on unique characters and ability-based gameplay. These characters are known as Freegunners, who you’ll take into battle across many maps and modes, fighting to take home the rewards of a job well done. At launch, the game will feature 16 Free Gunners, with more to come via free launch updates in the future that will introduce new characters, maps, modes and more.

Firewalk plans to share more details about Concord’s different editions and pre-order information next week, meaning it’s not a free-to-play game. Also, it looks like the beta will be open to everyone, with those who pre-order getting early access.
