Content warning coming to PS5 and Xbox? – Answered

Were you lucky enough to score a free copy of Content Warning during its launch promotion? If you are, you’ve managed to land one of the most interesting multiplayer horror games this year without paying a dime. It offers tons of content, more than a few laughs, and plenty of opportunities to advance. But is a content warning coming to PS5 and Xbox?

Content warning coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?

Landfall Games, the publisher behind the content warning, recently revealed that the indie horror game has sold an impressive 2.2 million copies and amassed more than 8.8 million players, meaning a lot of free copies came out on the first day. In the same thread, they haven’t fully confirmed a console release, but they hint at one.

When asked about a content warning on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, the studio said “never say never” and dropped an eyes emoji to those asking about a console release. Again, this is not a guarantee. But the publisher and developers want to launch their multiplayer horror game on consoles!

How many people can play the content warning?

If you’re playing vanilla content warning—with zero mods installed—then you can play up to four people per game session and record the horrors of the old world. However, there are many user-made mods available that can increase the player count exponentially.

I’ve played on servers with twenty people and it’s been absolute chaos. We are monsters invading the underground, not humans trying to survive. But it’s also one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in the game.

Content warning modes are unlikely to make their way to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For an indie studio, this can be very difficult.
