You’ll be happy to know that First Descendant doesn’t require a Nexon account to play the free-to-play looter-shooter. You’ll need an account if you want to participate in the game’s cross-progression mechanics or receive the game’s many Twitch drops.
If you don’t care about cosmetics, emotes, or in-game currency, and you only play your games on a single system, you don’t need to worry about signing up for a Nexon account. But if you want to dive deeper into First Descent on PC and PlayStation 5, you’ll want to sign up for a free Nexon account.

How does first-descent cross-progression work?
As mentioned, the first successor offers cross-progression support. However, you must sign up for a Nexon account to use the system. Once you’re set, the game lets you pick up your progress, characters, stats, and equipment on any supported system.
