Solo developer Jason Nicot has announced an asymmetric multiplayer game. SanctuaStarting in the first half of 2025. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Sanctua tasks you and your friends with escaping a cursed Eqyptian tomb, but of course, one party member acts as a foil – an ancient guardian to ensure you playing as Never revive him.

What’s unique about Sanctua in the asymmetrical multiplayer space is its isometric camera view, which offers a wide view of your surroundings, provided you have the right amount of light. No two games will be the same, as the tomb layout, gadgets and traps are randomly generated each time. As the searchers (the good guys) navigate the tomb to collect clues in an attempt to escape, the layout will change as the walls get closer to you. Meanwhile, the Ancient Guardian will actively seek you out and try to neutralize or turn the seekers to the dark side.

Check out Sanctua’s reveal trailer below, and keep an eye out for a playtest later this year.
