Guerrilla Dodges question regarding LEGO Horizon on Xbox

July 5, 2024 by No Comments

Recently, Guerrilla revealed LEGO Horizon Adventures, a full-fledged LEGO title set in the heart of the same universe that gave us Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. It’s being developed in collaboration with Studio Gobo and is set for release later this year on PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch – but not Xbox.

In a recent post on Game File, Stephen Totilo revealed that he met with James Windeler, the story director working on LEGO Horizon Adventures. When prompted for an explanation about Xbox’s snubbing, Windeler didn’t have much to say…

Horizon, but blacky

LEGO Horizon Adventures looks like a substantial offering at first blush. It promises to be an authentic representation of Horizon’s post-apocalyptic world connected to an accessible and digestible family-friendly palette, bringing the franchise to a whole new audience. It is designed to be inherently cross-platform and includes cooperative elements, a first for the Horizon universe.

in Latest post on game file, Stephen Totillo sat down with Guerrilla Games’ James Windeler and grilled him about the upcoming title, asking why it wasn’t released on Xbox later this year. By way of response, Windeler just said:

You know, we don’t have anything to announce about Xbox right now.

However, when talking about the Nintendo Switch version of LEGO Horizon Adventures, Windeler went further, insisting that the squad at Guerrilla wants to cater to a ‘family-friendly audience and a younger audience’, but with a focus on the PlayStation and PC platforms. Make the game feel ‘as awesome as it could be’.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is set to hit Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 5 in 2024.
