During A recent preview For Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Polygon noted the absence of Tameem Antoniades and confirmed to Polygon that Antoniades left Ninja Theory after Xbox.

“An Xbox representative later confirmed to Polygon that he was not at the studio,” the preview reported. At this time, Xbox and Ninja Theory have not publicly released an official statement about why they left.

Tamim Antoniades also didn’t talk about the shakeup. Antoniades is one of the founders of Ninja Theory, helping to found the studio over 20 years ago. They directed other hits from the studio like DmC: Devil May Cry and worked on titles like Heavenly Sword.

Polygon claims Tamim Antoniades worked on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, but other creative leaders are currently at the helm. These creatives include Dan Atwell, Mark Slater-Tunstill and David Garcia.

During the Xbox Developer Direct from last January, Xbox announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will launch on May 21st. Xbox Wire also confirmed that the anticipated sequel will be digital only.

It also launches Day One on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows and Steam for $50. In an Xbox Wire post, Dom Matthews stated that Hellblade 2 “will be sold at a lower price to reflect the shorter length of our story”.

Tamim Antoniades is the amazing creative force behind Ninja Theory, so hopefully they’ll update fans soon on what their plans are.
