Helldivers 2 Gets 200,000 Positive Reviews In One Day As PSN Change Is Lazy

May 7, 2024 by No Comments

The power of gamers has been proven once again as PlayStation recently exposed users on PC No A PSN account must be created to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. This highly controversial change was supposed to happen yesterday, but it didn’t go ahead due to the rampant negativity it brought, with Helldivers 2 receiving nearly 300,000 negative reviews on Steam over three days.

Now, after undoing that change, Helldivers 2 has received more than 200,000 positive reviews on the platform in just one day, righting the ship and bringing the game’s overall rating back up.

All they wanted

A dramatic situation has arisen in the last few days. Had this change gone ahead, users in dozens of countries around the world would have lost access to Helldivers 2 on PC, as many regions were not part of the PlayStation Network.

Here’s what PlayStation has to say about the final changes:

Helldivers fans — we hear your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which required linking a Steam and PlayStation Network account for new players and existing players from May 30, will not go forward.

We’re still learning what’s best for PC players, and your feedback is invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we’ll keep you posted on future plans.

Sadly, most of this blow fell on the game’s developer, Arrowhead Studios. This was a decision that was out of their control, and some staff at the company urged users to leave negative reviews and request refunds where it would hurt Sony the most.

It is still unconfirmed if this change will be tried further down the line.
