A key part of playing any tactical shooter is consistent and accurate communication. How you survive encounters and complete objectives. In gray zone warfare, you need clear comms with a mess of 16 players per faction roaming the map. Here’s how to use push to talk in gray zone warfare!

How to Push to Talk in Gray Zone Warfare

Press ‘Z’ on your keyboard to use Push to Talk In gray zone warfare. It will automatically set to active VOIP with keybind the moment you launch the game. Most games use ‘V’ or ‘Alt’ to push to talk so this is a bit off. You may want to change the keybinds for greater accessibility and personal comfort.

Gray Zone boasts one of the most obvious voice communication mechanics of the warfare genre. This is most obvious when talking to your squad or faction. I can’t think of a single instance where I couldn’t articulate what someone was saying.

Can you turn off VOIP in Gray Zone Warfare?

You can turn off VOIP in Gray Zone Warfare by navigating to the game settings, the gear icon in the upper right corner of your HUD. From here, scroll down to ‘Audio’, the bottom two options are for in-game VOIP.

You can switch between Proximity VOIP and Squad VOIP depending on your preferences. If you find it overwhelming to hear your entire faction talking to each other back at the base, turn off the proximity VOIP.

Personally, I think it’s more immersive with proximity, as you meet other PMCs in the field while completing your objectives. It’s interesting to see the squad commands and players chatter while firing at enemies in Lamang.
