On October 20th, what is being described as the greatest superhero game of all time will be released: Spider-Man 2. It is the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Spider-Man and is one of the best games ever released. On PlayStation 5 if there are any previews. In a recent message posted on Twitter, Insomniac Games took the time to highlight a few notes about the game.

First, it emphasized that ‘the disc contains the entire game and is playable from start to finish without the need for a patch or online’. There is an optional update for physical players can do Download the game when they install it, but it’s not mandatory, obviously. Then, Insomniac explains that this update adds ‘general improvements’ and more touches to Spider-Man 2, so of course, you’ll probably want it.

You don’t need it, but you do

According to Insomniac Games, players who are interested in experiencing Spider-Man 2 can do so as soon as possible. If you’ve been throwing a disc at your PlayStation 5 console this week, you’ll have noticed that it’s fully playable without connecting to the internet or installing a single patch – but as I just mentioned there is an option.

It has been highlighted that digital players will pre-load the version of the game that automatically includes this new update – 1.001.002.

With a few more accessibility features and some improvements to early sections of the game, it would seem foolish not to download this optional update — unless you’re in a position to do so in the first place.
