Is Fallout 4 High Resolution Texture Pack Worth It?

Playing on PC usually means you get the best of everything. You can download high-quality mods for your favorite games, tweak performance and graphics settings, and download free content meant to enhance the overall experience. But will he do that? Is Fallout 4 High Resolution Texture Pack worth your time and energy?

Should You Download High Resolution Texture Pack For Fallout 4?

While the marketing material clearly states that this texture pack brings “ultra-deluxe detail” to the Fallout 4 Wasteland, which sounds especially appealing to new players, it’s not worth your time. The heavy pack takes up about 60 GB worth of hard drive space, and the graphical improvements prove to be minor overall. It doesn’t help performance either. You’re better off using Mods for Fallout 4 instead!

If you want to improve and tweak the graphics in Fallout 4, here are some high-quality alternatives to the High Resolution Texture Pack:

  • Vogue ENB
  • Reactor ENB
  • Visceral ENB
  • Vivid ENB
  • Ghost ENB for NAC
  • Don ENB

I’m a huge fan of Dan ENB, but everyone has their preferences. You can find all these graphically integrated mods for absolutely free download at Nexus Mods. However, they may need some tweaks to work properly, so read the instructions carefully!

What are the system requirements for the High Resolution Pack?

You need a beefy system to run the High Resolution Texture Pack in Fallout 4. This requires:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-5820K or better
  • memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GTX 1080 8 GB
  • storage: 58 GB

That’s 58 GB extra space on top of the main game and other expansions and DLC. This brings Fallout 4 up to almost 100 GB on your hard drive!

High resolution texture pack free?

When Bethesda launched the Fallout 4 High Resolution Texture Pack on Steam, it did so without charging a dime. We are grateful for that. However, the overall performance drop and lack of high-fidelity graphics from a texture pack meant to improve the visuals makes it not worth your time to download this free DLC.
