in A new post On Twitter/X, the official Little Nightmares 3 account confirmed that the game has now been delayed to 2025.

The message to fans was a bit vague about the reason for the delay. But it explains that “quality is our top priority” and that developers want to “give the game the care and love it deserves.”

The team has not confirmed if the game will be moved to the start or end of 2025. However, they are assuring fans that more news about Little Nightmares 3 will come “later this summer.”

Supermassive Games announced its anticipated horror sequel Little Nightmares 3 at Gamescom last year. The devs had planned for a 2024 release before development was delayed today.

If it’s aiming for a release around Halloween, that suggests it could be earlier than early 2025, but that’s just speculation. The previous two games were released in April 2017 and February 2021 in the inaugural year.

Supermassive Games also faced layoffs last February, which affected 30% of its staff. It’s unclear if this specifically delayed Little Nightmares 3.

Supermassive previously developed Until Dawn in 2015, which appeared at Sony’s latest State of Play showcase this week. Uptill Dawn’s remaster is officially coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in fall 2024 and now has a new trailer.
