According to the latest information from Nintendo Financial release In the fiscal year ending March 2024, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Princess Peach: Showtime sold over 1 million units.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong Remake 2024 was only released in mid-February and has already sold 1.12 million units.

Princess Peach: Showtime debuted late last March and sold 1.22 million units. These numbers represent global results, but it’s certainly still impressive. Some recent indie surprises like Palworld have sold 1 million copies in a single day quickly, but that’s certainly a good pace.

Both Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Princess Peach: Showtime maintain solid ratings from critics and fans alike on Metacritic.

Although Nintendo has finally announced that it will reveal a Switch successor this fiscal year, current-gen titles like Mario vs. Donkey Kong are still in development. In fact, as of February 2024, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 139 million units.

After confirming that a new device would be revealed, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa announced a new Nintendo Direct for June 2024. However, Nintendo has made it very clear that it’s scheduled to go live in June. No Next feature the switch device.
