Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe The film pitch was rejected by Warner Bros. Jeremy AdamsThe writer of several Mortal Kombat and several DC projects incl Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge revealed that he brought the idea to the studio just to be “Postponed.” The fighting video game was a huge success in 2008 and since then fans have been demanding more content along the gameplay line.

Jeremy spoke to the industry renowned news site, ComicBook.com. The interviewer asked him if being involved in several Mortal Kombat and “quite a few” DC projects lead to anything. And if the fans should have any expectations. In response to this he said that he would recommend them “Lower your expectationsAs he actually pitched the idea to Warner Bros.sometime agoBut the studio rejected it.

I would lower your expectations. I don’t know if they have plans to do more. I do know we introduced it a while ago, but it was kind of pushed back.”

Like many Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe fans, this stunned the interviewer. As there has been a growing number of voices calling for another Mortal Kombat and DC crossover project, especially after the release of Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge in 2020. Jeremy, despite the uncertainty, hoped that the studio would plan something beyond this idea and that he would be happy to be involved in such a project.

I don’t know if they will ever make another. I hope they do, and I hope they call me to be involved. That would be great because I really like it. But I don’t know. I do not know. But I think it would be really cool. Trust me, I would love to see DC Mortal Kombat. That would be super, super cool.”

Warner Bros. owns the rights to both of these franchises and has everything at its disposal to make its fans’ wishes come true. Looking at the demand for a Mortal Kombat-like project against the DC Universe, it wouldn’t be surprising if the studio would consider such a possibility in the future.
