MSI had a panel at the Computex 2024 event today announcing a mid-gen refresh for their handheld console, The Claw. According to Digital Trends, the device is getting an upgraded model called the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus. Interestingly, just like the recently announced ROG Ally X, the new model will also feature an 80 Whr battery, which is a significant upgrade over the previous model. The most exciting upgrade comes on its processor side, as it ditches the existing Meteor Lake chips for Intel’s upcoming Lunar Lake series of processors.

Furthermore, the report also reveals that we will be getting an upgrade in the memory and storage of the Claw 8 AI Plus. The RAM is upgradeable to 32GB LPDDR5x, which can reach 8.5gbps. The upcoming device will now have upgradeable storage that includes a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD. The MSI Claw 8 AI Plus also sports a larger 8-inch screen with 1080p at 120Hz with similar resolution and refresh rate. These are the only details revealed about the device so far. Additional information like pricing, availability and other specifications will be available soon.

Additionally, the original MSI Claw has received a new limited edition model in collaboration with Fallout. The theme is inspired by the game’s Vaults, Pip-Boys, and Robots, giving fans the chance to further immerse themselves in their Fallout sessions.
