Several new Nintendo Switch 2 details have leaked online, revealing some of the new features coming to the new console.

According to a Spanish website Destruction, which reportedly received information from the console manufacturers, that the Nintendo Switch 2 will have the same Joy-Cons as its predecessor. The website claims that the new Switch 2 joy-cons will connect to the screen via magnetic strips.

This means that compatibility is not possible with standard Nintendo Switch joy-cons, but is possible with the current Nintendo Switch’s ‘Pro Controllers’, the website says.

According to the website, the information comes from manufacturers who “could touch the new Nintendo console.”

The website also explained that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in spring 2025, a date that has already been frequently rumored. Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, who has successfully leaked Nintendo announcements in the past, says that the reveal of the successor to the Nintendo Switch is scheduled for June 2024.

As of February 2024, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 139 million units, making it one of the most popular consoles of all time.
