Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 developer Ninja Theory has already reportedly greenlit its next game, in addition to Project Mara, which was first announced for 2020.

The report comes from Jez Corden WindowsCentral And that appears to be a response to people misunderstanding the studio’s latest Twitter postNinja Theory studio head Dom Matthews thanked the fans.

“Making video games is hard. Like Senua, as a team we are guided by the determination to achieve our quest: to create a game that immerses you deeply into the world of Senua and takes you on a journey that makes you think and feel,” read part of the message.

At a time of mass layoffs and uncertainty in the industry, it’s not hard to see why some people have come to the conclusion that the message is saying goodbye. However, Corden reported that it was nothing more than a warm message from the studio head and according to their sources, their next game has been greenlit. Corden reiterated that the Greenlight project is in addition to Project Mara, which was first announced in 2020.

What will happen in the new game is anyone’s guess, but for now, we have Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 to look forward to, which will be released on May 21, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
