Payday 3 player count crashes as first patch gets delayed again

It hasn’t even been a month since Payday 3’s release, but players are actively abandoning the much-awaited game as a result of its launch. Since it dropped, Payday 3 has been plagued by a number of issues, most notably network issues stemming from the developer’s decision to make it an always-online title.

It doesn’t end there. In a statement, Starbreeze revealed that the first ‘big patch’, which should fix many of the current issues facing Payday 3, has been delayed. It was supposed to drop in ‘mid-October’, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen due to ‘a few issues that need to be ironed out’.

Players robbed of payday

On Steam, there is a player count of Payday 3 About 90% crashed In just three weeks. On the popular PC platform, Payday 2 has almost ten times more players engaged than Payday 3, which is a perfect representative example of the state of the game.

In a message Published on Twitter hours agoStarbreeze explained:

Heysters, we apologize for the lack of communication regarding the first patch. We’ve identified some issues that need to be addressed before we can bring them to you, but rest assured that this is a top priority for our teams.

It is highlighted that in the future, additional time will be spent to ensure that these types of updates and patches are more stable and delivered on time.

At this point, many in the community are highlighting that there are some huge launches on the horizon – like Spider-Man 2 this week and Modern Warfare III in a month – and any returning players to Payday 3 are likely to move. Anyway move on to something else in due course.

Payday 3 may never recover.
