in A new post On Twitter, the official Roblox feed announced that new video ads are now available to all advertisers. These ads do not require custom-made 3D content.

Roblox is already offering a limited trial for video ads on select brands. A report By Variety Describes full advertising, explaining these ads are only served to users over the age of 13.

These new video ads offer features such as “genre targeting, brand compatibility and audience prediction”.

Brands will be able to buy through the completed views model “later in 2024” without an exact date. Roblox’s post explains that the new video ads will help brands “connect with Gen Z.”

Roblox’s Stephanie Latham said today that the new video ads offer “simplicity and scalability.”

At the very least, ad publishers still have to meet various requirements and standards. Some of these requirements include ID verification, special visitor minimums, and Roblox community standards.

Many players are still very interested in UGC issues, and there was further backlash after Roblox forced in-person work in October 2023. Content-related updates are probably healthy for the game, at least to keep players interested. But many fans are still concerned that video ads will disrupt gameplay.

“Users are aware when interacting with ad content on Roblox,” Variety reported. This suggests that video ads should be very different in-game. Now that all advertisers can join, it has the potential to increase the reach and volume of video advertising.
