Identified by a Twitter user @Bogorad222The social media manager at Saints Row Community and LinkedIn revealed that the game has sold 1.7 million units.

Saints Row will cost more than $100 million to develop by 2022, according to Embracer Group’s 3rd quarter earnings call. The game was originally released for $70, making the studio a profit of $19 million, however, soon after the games release, the game’s selling price was somewhat reduced due to its poor reception.

The game received mixed to average reviews from critics and was slammed by players online due to the games massive amount of bugs and size. In November 2022, Embracer Group said Saints Row “failed to meet full expectations and partially confirmed fans”, but financially “performed in line with management’s expectations for the quarter”.

In August 2023, a year after the games’ release, Embracer Group shut down Volition and moved its Red Faction and Saints Row IP to Playeon.
