Tekken 8 Roadmap for Free Updates Revealed with Season 1 Trailer

April 29, 2024 by No Comments

in A new post Today on Twitter, the official Tekken feed revealed the roadmap for upcoming free updates to Tekken 8. Bandai Namco also released a cinematic and gameplay trailer for Season 1.

The roadmap doesn’t have specific dates for each update, but it breaks things down into seasons. There will be battle balancing adjustments this spring, “coming soon.”

In the summer of 2024, Tekken 8 will introduce a new stage seaside resort and photo mode. But one of the biggest highlights from today’s announcement is a tease for a new chapter in the main story. The next chapter will arrive in Fall 2024, along with online practice and Ghost vs Ghost features.

With spring ending at the end of June, it’s surprising that the Tekken 8 roadmap doesn’t yet provide a release date for the balancing changes. Bandai Namco should announce something official soon. It’s unclear if Developments plans to tweak the entire roster or just a few notable fighters.

Today’s Season 1 trailer ended strong by revealing that Lydia will be returning as a playable character in Tekken 8. Although there is no release date yet, she will be available sometime this summer. Lydia was a fan favorite character in Tekken 7, which was released back in 2015.

Tekken launched on 8 January 2024 to rave reviews from critics and longtime fans. In February, Bandai Namco revealed that Tekken 8 had sold 2 million copies in its first month.
