in A new post Today on Twitter/X, Sony announced that the PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter will officially launch on August 7, 2024.

in A related blog From PlayStation, Sony also stated that the expected PC adapter will have an estimated retail price of $59.99. It will be available “at select retailers and available on”.

The news soon follows reports of Sony’s certification license for the adapter, which surfaced last week.

Today’s blog also reveals what users need for an adapter. This includes a DisplayPort cable that works with DisplayPort 1.4, a Steam account, and a PC that meets the minimum requirements.

Some of those requirements include 8 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, and a USB direct connection. And even though the adapter is built for the PlayStation 5, it’s missing some key features when you’re playing on a PC. Some examples include headset feedback and adaptive triggers.

The blog warns fans that “performance may vary depending on your PC setup” and individual SteamVR title requirements.

In August, a new PlayStation PC adapter will give fans access to Steam’s extensive library of VR games. That includes titles like Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout 4 VR and more.

Recently, Sony also held a huge State of Play showcase that teased more than a dozen games coming to the PlayStation 5.
