in A new post On Twitter, The Witcher 3’s official feed confirmed that the REDkit mod editor will be available on May 21, 2024.

The editor is available for free to all players who own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC. Today’s post adds that the editor is “comprehensive” and “based on the game engine.”

The dev team previously announced this editor in November 2023 without a release window. Players can now wishlist REDkit across Steam, GOG and EGS.

Witcher 3 REDkits Steam page Let’s go into more detail about its range of features. Users can create “animations, complete storylines, and new areas to develop new quests, items, weapons, and characters.”

The page indicates that players will have access to the same tools used by CD Projekt Red to develop the game. However, a small disclaimer still warns that “external tools” are needed to fully resemble the original creators’ range.

The community has already allowed The Witcher 3 engagement to grow over the years, but the official tool is a nice gesture. The game was originally launched almost a decade ago. But as of May 2023, The Witcher 3 has sold over 50 million copies.

Fans can still request access to the REDkit playtest on Steam. A Steam post in April explained that “Playtest access will be distributed in batches.”

CD Projekt Red is currently working hard on Project Orion. It recently expanded the Project Orion team in February 2024.
