Ubisoft Responds to Star Wars Outlaws Backlash Over Jabba’s Mission

In a new report via IGNA Ubisoft spokesperson quickly addressed fan backlash over locking the Jabba the Hutt mission behind the Star Wars Outlaws season pass.

Naturally, prospective players were quick to criticize Ubisoft for hiding the “Jabba’s Gambit” mission behind a paywall. After all, Star Wars Outlaws is already a full-priced, AAA game. In today’s IGN report, Ubisoft explained the exact nature of the mission.

“To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who buys the game, regardless of edition.

They also added that the “‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional, extra mission” for season pass owners.

Star Wars fans are already on edge after internet access requirements appeared on the covers, but this was only for installs. A recent story trailer looked promising, but some Ubisoft skeptics remain hesitant.

Jabba’s Gambit mission features a dangerous job from a leading adversary. Jabba the Hutt remains a fan-favorite character who is also a must-have for a Star Wars game about the galaxy’s criminal underworld.

Regardless of which edition players purchase, Jabba plays a central role. The controversy over Jabba’s Gambit was probably stirred by Ubisoft’s general pricing for Star Wars Outlaws.

Those higher editions are over $100, and Jabba’s Gambit is unlikely to offer enough content to justify that price tag alone.

Last week, Ubisoft announced that Star Wars Outlaws will launch on August 30. So, fans will have to wait until August to find out how much content the game has to offer.
