Valorant will reportedly not be included in the Esports World Cup due to ‘scheduling conflicts’.

The inaugural event of the Esports World Cup will begin on July 3, 2024 and will feature 8 weeks of intense competition across more than 20 games. Riot was supposed to have 3 participating games for this tournament, but it looks like only two of them made it in the end. According to a report by Esports AdvocateRiot’s first-person shooter Valorant will not be part of The Esports World Cup due to ‘scheduling conflicts’.

The Valorant Champions Tour or VCT 2024 will be held on August 1. Participating esports teams will be busy trying to qualify for their regions until that date. Hence, it becomes difficult for competitors to perform at their best during the Esports World Cup. However, Riot has not officially confirmed that Valorant will not be a part of the tournament, so you will have to wait for that. Besides, there are two more games from the developer that will be part of the competition, Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends.

The Esports World Cup tournament will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month and will have a huge prize pool. $60 million. This is the largest amount of prize money awarded in esports history, easily breaking Gamers8’s previous record of $45 million for their ‘The Land of Heroes’ tournament in 2023. More will be announced soon. A recent report suggests that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will also join the fray.
