VALORANT, Riot Games’ electrifying first-person competitive shooter, continues to evolve. The game was confirmed to be getting a console release – along with a brand new trailer – at the Summer Game Fest showcase. In great news for competitive gamers around the world, Riot Games is revealing that a limited beta will be available on PlayStation 5 on June 14th – but the game is also coming to Xbox Series X|S.

A new generation

VALORANT is one of the most exciting sports titles in the world, gaining global fame after its release in 2020 by Riot Games. It emerged as a strong competitor to Counter-Strike, combining the traditional mechanics of Valve’s legendary first-person shooter with Overwatch. Hero-based elements.

On June 14, console-based players – on PlayStation 5 – will get their first VALORANT experience. In a trailer showcasing the news, Riot Games explained that all of the captured footage (which you can see below) was recorded by players using a controller – and No A keyboard and mouse.

This could open up a whole new path for VALORANT esports, which until now has been firmly locked on PC. A mobile-based version of VALORANT is also being developed, but that’s a conversation for another day.
