xQc claims he is losing $6000 a day running ads

Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel may be on the wane in terms of popularity, but he remains one of the most consistent streamers in the world and has held a coveted spot at the top of the table for the past few years. He’s far from the least controversial streamer, but his eccentric tendencies have often resulted in effortless trending and contributed to his staggering following on platforms like Twitch.

In a recent stream, xQc got into the subject of Twitch ads, insisting that because he doesn’t run them on the platform, he’s losing about $6000 a day — roughly $2 million a year if he streamed every day.

That’s a lot of loss

The biggest Twitch streamers make passive bank from live streaming, with Twitch’s ad revenue payments filling their coffers to no end. Some streamers rely on running several minutes of ads every hour, while others favor a smarter operating model that sees them broadcast a string of four, five or more ads while taking a bathroom break or running out to get food. If you have enough viewers, it’s easy money.

However, some of the top streamers out there choose not to run any ads, and xQc is one of them. In a recent stream, he admitted that by doing this, he was losing thousands of dollars every time he went live, but he was hilarious in his breakdown:

It is 6000 dollars per day. You literally made me lose two mil this year. Look, I’m very charitable and cool.

Here’s the clip (I couldn’t transcribe everything he said because, frankly, I didn’t understand a word):

In 2023, xQc signed a massive $100 million deal with Kik, but the platform didn’t ask for exclusivity, so he never really stopped streaming his content on Twitch. The superstar streamer is estimated to be making a quarter of a million dollars a month from Twitch revenue and sponsorships, so perhaps losing his ad revenue isn’t such a big hit.
